In 2012 Bill Manhire, New Zealand’s first Poet Laureate and director of Victoria University’s International Institute of Modern Letters, was on the hunt for new poetic voices. For the first time in New Zealand, Manhire gave a public poetry masterclass offering insightful comment on the work of three budding poets.  The three poets selected to appear on stage with Bill Manhire were Alastair Galbraith from Dunedin, Vida Zelenka from Christchurch and Jo Morris from Hawkes Bay.

For the audience this was a rare opportunity to observe first-hand this fascinating creative process.  The session was convened by Chris Price.
